Ground Adulticiding Applications, April 19-21, 2005

Learn how to develop a state-of-the-art, cost-effective and environmentally sound ground adulticiding program for disease and nuisance control. The program emphasizes ground adulticiding techniques including operational policies and procedures, media relations, quality control systems, hands-on preventative maintenance/troubleshooting and efficacy measurements.

Surveillance March 22-24, 2005

Achieve a working knowledge of how to plan, implement and maintain an effective and sensitive surveillance network. In this course we will review a variety of surveillance techniques and equipment used in airborne virus programs for disease prevention as well as integrated mosquito management. You will have the opportunity to actively participate in the development of a complete surveillance program.

Gain working knowledge of all key areas of aerial application including operational technology and equipment and regulatory issues. Upon course completion, you will be able to recognize and assess aerial application needs and provide administrative, public relations and technical skills to develop appropriate solutions.

Ground Equipment Maintenance

Learn about the major types of ground adulticiding and larviciding equipment used throughout the industry today. You will acquire knowledge on troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, and gain valuable experience in the operation, calibration and characterization of ground equipment. Learn how to reduce maintenance costs, extend equipment life and improve overall efficiency of your maintenance program.

You will gain an understanding of how to develop cost-effective and environmentally sound larval control programs. We will focus on ground and aerial application equipment techniques including policies and procedures, media relations, quality control systems and efficacy measurements. In addition, we will also address species habitat, mapping and surveillance.
